Plan your Teide visit

Prepare for stargazing

Plan for a cold evening outdoors and a sky that changes with the season. The experience is guided, but the weather and visible objects cannot be guaranteed.

What matters for this visit

Dress for the observation stop

You will spend time standing or sitting outside after sunset. Bring warm layers, long trousers and comfortable closed footwear even when the coast feels warm. Do not rely solely on borrowed coats: Night Skies offers them on request, DAS lists them for VIP guests, and Tenerife Stars excludes jackets and blankets.

Moonlight is part of the decision

A bright Moon can make lunar detail a highlight while reducing the contrast of fainter objects. Planets, constellations and deep-sky targets vary through the year. The photographs on a listing are examples, often made with long exposures, not promises of what your eyes will see on a particular evening. Ask the operator what is likely to be visible around your date.

Meals, facilities and children

Choose a dinner option if you want the meal organised, and confirm dietary needs before paying. DAS states there are no toilet facilities at its observation locations. Night Skies describes a restaurant stop within its seasonal programme. For children, check the exact product’s age and suitability rules and think about how they handle cold, late nights and listening outdoors.

Keep the evening flexible

Watch for WhatsApp pickup or meeting instructions, as the time can change with the season. Weather can alter the observing location or lead to a rescheduled outing. Avoid scheduling stargazing immediately after a late flight: delays can make the meeting impossible, and DAS specifically advises against booking for the same evening as an afternoon arrival.

Questions before you book

Does a tour include the summit?

None of these selected products is sold here as a summit hike. The cable car reaches the upper station at 3,555 metres; the crater trail requires separate authorisation. Read our cable car and permits guide.

Is hotel pickup included?

It depends on the product and option. Some listings offer selected southern pickup, the cable car tour offers northern and southern collection, and others require self-arrival. Check the exact point before paying.

What should I wear?

Bring warm layers and comfortable closed footwear. High-altitude trails and vehicle activities have specific footwear, clothing or document requirements, listed on the individual tour page.

Are the prices live quotes?

No. These are verified USD listing-wide minimums checked on 6 November 2026. Select your date, option and party size with GetYourGuide for the current total.

Who takes my booking?

GetYourGuide handles the booking, and the named activity provider operates the excursion. Teide National Park Tours is an independent comparison publisher. We may earn commission from qualifying bookings.
